The short version

Nimbreth collects nothing about you or your files. There is no sign-up, and the app does not run analytics. Your files stay on your own devices and travel directly between the people you share with.

What the app does on the network

Two things, both necessary for it to work: it finds your peers so your devices can connect directly, and it checks for new versions so it can keep itself up to date. Neither of those sends us your files, your file names, or a record of how you use Nimbreth. There is no telemetry and no usage tracking.

Your files

They live in normal folders on your machines. When peers are online, files sync directly between them over an encrypted connection. Your content is not uploaded to Nimbreth-run servers; it stays on your machines and syncs peer to peer.

This website

nimbreth.com is a static site served from CloudFront. No cookies, no trackers, no ad pixels, no third-party scripts beyond Google Fonts (which we plan to self-host shortly). We do not run analytics on it.
